because Fifa had to be in it somehow.
Country: Australia
Real name: Riley Smith
Personality: A laid back fella, you would have no problem striking a conversation with him. Despite not being on the best terms with the British ( especially during the wars and all those times Australian troops were sent as cannon fodder ) he still feels a sense of loyalty towards 'motherland.' He has a mindset that if you are nice to him, he will most certainly return the sentiment. He is a hardheaded young man who can survive through many a dust and storms. Surviving through harsh conditions is what he does best.
There is, of course, a darker side to him. He has a past of discrimination and prejudice which he has tried hard to atone for. But overall, say g'day and watch him laugh!
Likes:
- Wildlife and nature. Flora and fauna is sexy.
- Democracy, freedom of speech and following America around like a dog.
not a political statement. nope. - Holidays, lazing around chattin', having a beer on a Sunday night. And getting smashed.
- Footy, NRL, cricket and various sports
- Also very amused at Austria's contempt at being mistaken for him.
Dislikes:
- Racism
- Urbanization
- Being accused of sodomizing sheep.
- John Howard - they just... never got along.
History:
History? What history?
# 8,000–40,000 BC: Aboriginal tribes are thought to have arrived in Australia.
# 1606 (March): The Dutch East India Company (VOC) ship Duyfken, under Captain Willem Janszoon, explores the western coast of Cape York Peninsula. This was the first recorded landfall by a European on Australian soil.
# 1642: Dutch explorer Abel Tasman explores the west coast of Tasmania, lands on its east coast and names the island Anthoonij van Diemenslandt.
# 1688: English explorer William Dampier explores the west coasts of Australia.
# 1770: English Lieutenant James Cook's expedition in HM Bark Endeavour charts the eastern coast, and claims it for the British Crown. Australia dubbed "terra nullius" because the indigenous inhabitants had no concept of land ownership and were incapable, at that time, of managing the country in an increasingly globally oriented community.

These islands included the current islands of New Zealand, which was administered as part of New South Wales.

# 1841: New Zealand is proclaimed as a separate colony, no longer part of New South Wales.
# 1850: Australia's first university, the University of Sydney, is founded.
# 1851: The Victorian gold rush starts when gold is found at Summerhill Creek and Ballarat.
# 1854: The Eureka Stockade

Specific because... otherwise there wouldn't be anything in it.
Role Play Example:
[ FIRST TIME ATTEMPTING AUSTRALIA. ]
Australia groaned, and gouged at his eyes. This bloody election was really getting out of hand. It was absolutely ridiculous, and Australia absolutely hated having a hung parliament. It meant he had to cut down on sleep and watching telly and getting smashed and of course he was thinking about a better, renewable, bigger, er- more sustainable government. Guillard or Abbott, what difference does it really make. To him, that is.
It wasn’t like he had any power over himself. And foreign relations these days were really goddamn boring. Perhaps, in truth, listening to Labor and Liberal squander their time by aimlessly holding debates instead of actively fixing these stupid policies of theirs was even more painstaking. All he wanted to do was to get home and fix his attic. Maybe throw a steak or two onto the grill. Get smashed --- something like that. Certainly not wide-awake at 2 am in a suit and tie, following the two would-be Prime Minister’s around their campaign roundups.
Dammit. The chaser’s were on tonight as well.
