((Hello! I’m aware that this application may need a few changes, especially in the History, so tell me what I need to fix and I’ll do it right away!))
Country: South Italy/Romano/Repubblica Italiana
Real name: Lovino Vargas
Personality: ((I used his human name here; if you would like me to fix it, please tell me.))
Lovino is a man of many facets and qualities, not all of which are favorable or flattering. Many of his personality traits are rarely seen because they are hidden behind the more prominent ones, but they are there, and one can force him to show those hidden traits with enough provocation. Of course, depending on the trait in question, that may or may not be a smart idea. For an attempt to discover Lovino’s hidden facets can be rewarding, but potentially deadly. That is often the case where Lovino is concerned.
He is quite fond of profanity and insults, and tends to use both as a weapon against anyone he doesn’t like (pretty much everyone). Lovino hates to think it’s his only weapon, but that may well be the case; he is physically weak and a bit of a coward. He may make plenty of threats, especially to Germany, but he never carries them out if the other person/nation is stronger (which is very often the case). He tries not to show his cowardice, but often fails miserably. He doesn’t want to appear afraid, but when the time comes to show courage, he doesn’t – but whether that’s because he can’t or because he chooses not to remains to be seen. And when he does take action, he has a tendency to let his heart and passions rule his actions, rather than relying on his brain. This is especially evident in his displays of anger. As he tends to not think things through, his anger is particularly catastrophic, often resulting in injury.
Lovino tends to act harshly towards the world and everyone in it, particularly to those he actually cares about, which causes those few people to misunderstand his motives. He really does care, but he has a strange way of showing it. His behavior towards those he loves is almost indistinguishable from his behavior towards those he hates, and almost no one can actually tell the difference (Feliciano may be the one exception), so they believe that he hates them, which may or may not be the case. Lovino harbors true hate for many people due to his resentment of the fact that historically, his brother has been more popular. The “Austria, trade Italies with me!” incident happened a long, long time ago, but Lovino is still resentful.
He doesn’t enjoy many things, but he is very passionate about the few he does, and he will not allow anyone else to “cannibalize” his food, culture, etc. He often frightens people away with that attitude, as most sane people would prefer not to be attacked by an angry Italian, no matter how little damage could result.

Role Play Example:
THWACK!
“Damn him!” Romano slid to his knees, having tired of punishing a brick wall for Antonio’s transgressions. Tears leaked from his eyes, but not because he was upset or anything, damn it! The cuts on his hands hurt; that was all!
Maybe taking out his anger on an inanimate object that was a good deal stronger than he had been a bad idea, but Romano didn’t really care. What were a few scrapes to him? He was stronger than that, damn it!
Why was Romano attempting to inflict pain upon a wall in some random alley in a Spanish town he couldn’t remember the name of? The answer was simple: Antonio. It was always his fault. Everything was always his fault… His and the wine bastard’s. “Those bastards…” Romano muttered, clenching his hands into fists as he longed to strike something, anything, just to relieve himself of his anger. Creating a dent in the wine bastard’s head would be preferable, but he didn’t dare go back. Not after what had happened earlier…
When Romano had woken up that morning, he had decided, for whatever stupid reason, to bring some of the tomatoes he’d picked to Antonio’s house. But it wasn’t because he liked the idiot, hell no! He just didn’t want any tomatoes he couldn’t eat to go to waste! But for whatever reason, he’d gone to visit Antonio, and when he’d pushed open the door…
France had been standing there, pushing Antonio against the wall, hands roaming up under Antonio’s shirt and over his body…
And Romano had snapped. In his rage, he’d thrown a dictionary at France, a few tomatoes at Antonio, and then he’d promptly dropped his basket and run. He hadn’t cared where, as long as it was far, far from there. And so now he was here, trying to pretend that venting through violence would change things. It wasn’t working, for the record; it just served to make Romano feel emptier…
“Shit…” he choked out, pressing his forehead to the wall in defeat. “What’s wrong with me? And why am I crying, dammit?” He couldn’t understand why Antonio’s and France’s actions stung the way they did, but he knew that the reason couldn’t be good. Nothing good could make his heart ache so badly…
((If I made him to sappy and lovesick-puppy-ish, just tell me and I’ll gladly fix it. I haven’t rp-ed Romano in a REALLY long time, so…))
